Nettie Belle McMaster; daughter of daughter of Andrew McMaster & Margaret Jane Ryan; Nettie was born in 1864 in Huffersville, Ohio, died on 31 may 1942 in Montgomery County, Dayton, Ohio; married William Clingman in 1879.  William was born on 1 May 1862 in Harshman, Ohio, died in 1927 in Dayton, Ohio. See Williams story below:

Austin (Auty) Clingman

William Clingman owned & operated the William Clingman Transfer Company at 118 N. St. Clair Street in Dayton Ohio, & lived on Valley Pike until his death.  He established his transfer business in 1902, his office being located at 7 1/2 N. Jefferson Street.

For 23 years Mr. Clingman hauled the Dayton Daily Newspapers to the Union station, first in his little cart & wagon & later in the large trucks which he operated himself.  He was under contract when he began hauling for the Daily News in 1901 to make his delivery for nine dollars a day.  But in the process of time the hauling brought him hundreds of dollars a week which was a good living in the early 1920's.  He was under contract to the Dayton Daily News until 1924 until his health failed him.  William was an active member of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal church, but never affiliated with lodges or other organizations.  He left his wife & six sons upon his death.

The family stories suggest that a few of the six Clingman boys were into music & played the piano in downtown Dayton to make their living, while the other boys worked in the family transfer business.
